This is a gorgeous Santa Rita Purple Prickly Pear Cactus Plant. It comes rooted and established. The pads are approximately 3 inches in diameter. These beautiful cactus are native to the Sonoran desert and grow in clumps that usually average about 4 feet tall by 5 feet wide. The large leaf pads appear similar to a shrub and will turn an amazing purple color in the cool, dry winter months. Large spines cover the entirety of the pad, and the flowers will appear in late spring. They are a brilliant yellow with a red center. The bright yellow flowers grow to 3 inches in diameter and produce a delicious red to purple fruit. These plants love a full sun environment but will tolerate times of shade. It will enjoy a well drained cactus soil with a pH level between 6.0 and 7.0. It does not have to be watered until the soil is nearly dry. This will only be about once a month.
